KofC Council #7502

Mark Germann

Brother Knights and Families:
We are fast approaching the Holiday Season and our Council is sprinting towards it with a very active October.
Our College Scholarship Fund got a major boost from our 2nd Annual Council 7502 Golf Tournament on September 30, 2017 at Legacy Ridge Golf Course. Mark Balderston, Ed Getsch and their team raised over $14,000 for Knights Council 7502 sponsored College Scholarships. It was a wonderful day and everyone truly enjoyed the Golf and Fellowship.
Our Council was honored to host a Major Degree on October 7, 2017 at IHM. We bestowed full Knighthood to 24 Brother Knights. It was wonderful to recognize our Degree Honorees: Roger Peckinpaugh- 2nd Degree and Father Francis Saleth- 3rd Degree. Both were on hand to be recognized and appreciated.
Please join me in congratulating Council 7502 Members Scott Henning, Jeff Althaus, Hugo Ochoa, Brian Dunne, and Seminarian Miguel Mendoza for making their major degrees. The State Officers attending were very complimentary to our Council in hosting a very successful program. It is important to recognize Jim Befort for facilitating and coordinating all the behind the scenes activities to make our program a success. In addition, Rudy Baron, Eric Wilson and team provided a delicious meal for all. Zach Politzki and Leo Amend made sure all had their beverage of choice. Finally, our Ladies Auxiliary led by Charlene Malsom put on a wonderful program for the spouses of Knights making degrees, decorated the dinner tables and helped to serve dinner. Thanks to all who made this special event possible.
On the morning of October 7th, Byron Day and team led our second Patriotic Rosary at the Northglenn Community Center. Our attendance for this event doubled from September. Please join us for on November 4, 2017, we will gather at 10 am.
Jarrod Harris and team hosted our second IHM Parish Breakfast on October 8th, 2017. It exciting to note that we are now offering a Belgian Waffle stand with all the trimmings. The new offering was a big hit with the kids. Thanks to our Boy Scout Troups who helped everyone enjoy making them. Come check it out on November 12th!
On Saturday, October 14th, Ray Luque and Ernie Gurule led our efforts with the Tootsie Roll Campaign to benefit the Mental Disabilities, Special Olympics and other Charities of Colorado. We were out in front of 6 Stores to raise money and distribute Tootsie Rolls. The Sign-Up Genius helped in getting staffing and after expenses, the campaign raised over $3,000. Thanks to everyone who helped out to make such a great success.
Finally, the Assembly sponsored its annual Dinner Play House event on October 22, 2017. Over 80 people made the trip to the Loveland Candlelight Play House to see the Music Man. Special thanks to Larry Allwine for once again leading this great event. A good time was had by all.
Looking Ahead:
Our Council will host a Thanksgiving themed Past Grand Knights & Leadership Appreciation Dinner on November 4, 2017. Social Hour is 5:00 pm and dinner is at 5:45 pm. Come join as our Council Chefs will be smoking turkey and serving a traditional dinner.
Our Assembly, Council, Ladies Auxiliary, and Squires will be hosting a special Veterans Breakfast on to honor our military on November 11, 2017 at IHM. The event will take place from 9:00-12:00 am.
Finally, our The Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their annual tasty Chili Fundraiser on at 12:00pm on November 18, 2017 at our Council Hall. This event helps support our annual Children’s Christmas party. Come join us for some great chili and fun!
Thanks for everything all of you do to make our parish and community better place to be. Have a great November!
Vivat Jesus
